  • Nelson Montessori students are regular visitors to the Brook Sanctuary. Hopefully the experience they have will set in motion a connection and appreciatiion of the New Zealand bush that will influence the rest of their lives.

  • The students from Waimea College spent the afternoon removing the invading broom and other weeds and also plnted some natives so that we can restore the hillside. This will allow further spread of wildlife down the Valley. We thank them very much for their hard work to help the project

  • Mapua School visited us on a very wet Friday, 17 December, as part of the Air New Zealand Environmental Trust, Kids Restore NZ project.

    They were lucky to have Ruud Kleinpaste accompany them to the Sanctuary and go for a walk into the bush. He was very happy to return and become reacquainted with our resident weka family.

  • Room 3 from Clifton Terrace School visited the Sanctuary on 21 September to complete a unit on birds.
