The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary is an exciting project to create a vibrant wildlife sanctuary for the people of New Zealand.  Building an enduring legacy for future generations of our community.

With your help, we are returning nature to the Nelson region.

What is a bequest?

A bequest is a gift made through a Will.

Have you made a Will?

Making a Will is one of the most important acts you can do and helps ensure your estate is handled in the manner you wish it to be, at the appropriate time.  Not having a Will in place can cause confusion and grief for loved ones.

Establishing a Will doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive.  It can however be very rewarding knowing that you can make a lasting difference to your family and the charities or causes that you passionately support.

If you already have a Will, or a Family Trust, you can make a bequest by adding an amendment to the document.  We recommend you discuss this with your Solicitor.

Why leave a bequest to Brook Waimarama Sanctuary?

The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary is a community project developing a valuable resource for future generations.  This can only be achieved by building a strong revenue stream for the future to protect the assets of the Sanctuary.

A bequest to the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary Trust is a generous gift that will enable the Sanctuary to develop and thrive, leaving an enduring legacy for future generations to enjoy and be involved with.

How do I arrange a bequest?

If you would like more information about leaving a bequest to the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary Trust, or if you have already included a gift to the Trust in your Will, please contact:   |   Phone: 03 546 5591

There are several ways you can leave a bequest in your Will, and we recommend that you discuss these options with your Solicitor.

Brook Waimarama Sanctuary Trust has formed a relationship with Nelson Bays Community Foundation (“The Foundation”) to assist with managing bequests on behalf of the Trust.   The Foundation is an independent charitable organisation established to receive funds from bequests and gifts for the benefit of our community. The funds are conservatively invested, with the principal sum retained in perpetuity, and the income distributed in accordance with the wishes of the donor.
